Okay...I succumbed to desire and bought this little puppy yesterday. She is a purebred Shih Tzu and is 10 weeks old. I have been thinking about a getting a little lap dog for quite some time but had decided to wait until we no longer had a dog. I met this puppy several weeks ago and feel in love with her immediately. Yesterday I found out she was still available and the owners were ready to take less than their original asking price for her. So, I went to their home and met the puppies parents and male sibling that is still for sale. She is absolutely adorable. She did great her first night here (I am training her in a crate) and today she has been trying to engage Belle in some puppy play. She will be about 10 or 11 pounds when full grown. As I'm writing this, she is sleeping in my knitting bag on my desk. I have been trying to decide what to name her. I am leaning towards "Sophie" but find myself calling her "Sweet Pea" so that name might be the one that sticks. Other names that have been suggested are "Honey" and "Pebbles". Jim came home from North Dakota with this little surprise and is such a good sport. The only comment he made was to ask me if I thought about calling him first! I said, "No, not really, do you care?" He doesn't really but is not the dog lover I am. He knows though, that it will be me taking care of her anyway. I took her in to Pets' Mart yesterday and they gushed over her and took her into their grooming facility to trim the hair around her eyes and her nails. She came out with a pink and purple bow in her hair that I took out when we left. They did it for free but I'm sure they would like to have me as a customer! Anyway, that's my news for the day!

trip to NYC for Kaitlin's 18th bday
WoW! What a whirlwind . . . but loads of fun. Mom (jane), Kaitlin (the birthday girl) ,"friend" Kyle, friend Camerian and friend Mark loaded into the van to head north during out first and probably only winter storm watch. Aunt Vicki was our hostess and tour guide and showed us a fabulous time. Central Park was beautiful covered in snow. The restaurant that Kaitlin chose for her big dinner was the Gotham Bar and Grill (see web site) and was incredibly fabulous!! We took pictures of all the beautifully prepared dishes as they came. Each one was a work of art!! We visited the Guggenhiem, East Village, SoHo and road the subway and ate some wonderful food. A short but worthwhile trip. We plan to do it again soon.

This one's for Jim
In case you haven't seen the picture, this is Jim's newest love. We have named her Linda because he used to sing a Conway Twitty song to me when we were dating to which the words were "Now I'm lying here with Linda on my mind...And, next to me, the soon to be, the one I left behind..." The day he picked her up he called me (I was out of town) and told me he had to confess that there was another love in his life. Hence, she received the only name fitting, in my mind!
Okay...one more post today. If I have your email address and you are a Frazier, I have made you an author. That means you can add posts anytime you want to. If you didn't get an email telling you you have been added, send me your email address and I will add you (Ron, Kaitlin, Megan, Spence, etc.) That's all for now! Lori
The first Frazier Family Blog
Jim and I were just in Virginia visiting family. During one of our dinner table discussions we mused about having a family blog. I think it is a great way to communicate and share pictures, videos, thoughts, announcements, poems, etc. So, I have attempted to create one and am going to send the link to all the fam. Please participate and invite others to do the same. We'll see how it goes and if it doesn't get used, we will do away with it!
Jim is leaving for North Dakota tomorrow (Monday, February 25) for a seismic shoot. Lauren will be home for spring break on Friday, February 29. She and I will return to California together on March 8 so that I can attend the wedding of one of Adam's good friends. While I am there Lauren and I are going to see the play "Wicked" with Mark and Tony. Katie, Adam's girlfriend has secured free tickets to Disneyland which we will use on Monday, the 10th of March. I am returning to Denver on the 11th and will work as a substitute at Denver Chrsitian High School from March 12th through the 14th.
Okay...so that's a sample of how it's done! Join in and let's have some fun with it! Love, Lori
